Good Evening! I’ve been meaning to post these pictures for a while… A few saturdays ago I had the opportunity to visit Livermore Wine Country with some old and new friends, and we had the BEST time. The two wineries we went to (more on that later) were so cute and charming, and I would go back in a heartbeat!
Where: Livermore, California
For those who don’t know, (and that’s most I assume) Livermore is a small-ish town southeast of San Francisco. It’s home to some 30+ wineries, and has some awesome red and white varietals.
How to get there: Dublin/ Pleasanton Bart Station, and then Uber, or Livermore Wine Trolley
In my opinion, it’s a great alternative to Napa or Sonoma as it’s accessible by BART (San Francisco’s Subway system) thus making it a great day trip from San Francisco proper even if you don’t have a rental car.
The wineries we visited were small with a more boutiquey feel than many of the wineries in Napa/ Sonoma, but to be honest, that only added to the charm-factor!
We went to Concannon Vineyard and Retzlaff Vineyard. Both were gorgeous and had their own unique personalities and plus factors. The former had a more commercialized feel, but the wine tasting part was by far my favorite part of the two… those guys hook you up! Retzlaff was probably my favorite overall, with more of a family feel, and a gorgeous open picnic lawn.
Anywho, if you are a Bay Area Native, or are visiting the area, give Livermore Wine Country a try! You won’t regret it!
