Hello lovely ladies! A few weeks ago thredUp reached out to me to do a collaboration. I had never heard much about thredUp other than seeing a few ads on Facebook, but I was immediately curious.
So what is thredUp?
ThredUp (website here) is an online consignment store… essentially like an online Plato’s closet. While I’m not much for consignment shopping- sorting through bin after bin of clothing has never been my forte- thredUp fills that gap. You can easily search for and sort through items by size, color, brand, and price. They also offer Men’s and children’s clothing as well as accessories and maternity clothing. All clothes are like new, and they have many many designer options at up to 90% off.
I was given a stipend of $50.00 so with that in mind I sought out in search of a nice shirt I could wear to work, and one other “fun” item. I found this J Crew pink silk dress (my fun item) in my size for under $35.00, as well as a silk blouse by Equipment (which I’ll hopefully get to in a later post.) The clothes came within a week, and were both in PERFECT condition. Now I know that I may have just gotten lucky, but it definitely left a good enough impression on me that I will use the site in the future. Both the shirt and dress retailed for close to $200.00 so to get two items for under $50.00 was a huge win in my book!
Oh, and I’ve already worn this dress two times… Once out to a casual dinner and drinks, and also last weekend when I did a little segment on our local News station WJBF. So with that said, it’s definitely been the perfect dress to refresh my spring wardrobe.
thredUp will also take your gently used clothing. While I haven’t tried this option, I plan to utilize their service next time I clean out my closet.
So tell me, would you use thredUp? Have you used thredUp? How do you feel about online consignment stores?
Thanks for reading!
