Buonasera from Montalcino, a medievil village in the southern region of Tuscany!
We spent the better part of our day cruising around the Tuscan countryside in our convertible (sadly with the top up, as it rained most of the day, womp womp) going to different wineries and tasting
some of the best red wines I’ve ever had.
If you find yourself planning a trip to Tuscany, I highly recommend basing yourself in Montalcino. Reasons being, it’s in close proximity to many of the other points of interest in Tuscany (Siena, Montepulciano, Assisi, etc.), the region produces some of the highest rated wines in Italy (Brunelli di Montalcino to be exact), and the city itself is perched high on a mountaintop, making for some of the most beautiful views we’ve ever seen. It also doesn’t hurt that the landscape of the area is reminiscent of that in the movie Under The Tuscan Sun! Just throwing that out there for those of you who’s image of Italy is painted by that movie! (P.S I was one of those people!)
How cute is this striped backless tassel dress (ONLY $24!!)?! We took these snaps after breakfast by our hotel pool, and though it was too cold to swim, I am so excited to wear this coverup/dress this summer! I love the fact that it’s kindof a comfy t-shirt material (rather than gauzy like some coverups), and can be worn as a dress with cute wedges and a statement necklace, or to the pool as I’m wearing it here!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! I’m currently on cloud nine after having a delicious four course dinner with wine pairings here at this little mom and pop style eatery in Montalcino. I realize how snooty that sounds while typing this, but Geordie and I have tried to keep our meals somewhat reasonably priced while in Italy. That beings said, tonight just kinda blew our minds with how good it was!
