When I was a child I ALWAYS picked out my outfit before school, sometimes even planning several days in advance to avoid the dreaded outfit repeat (oh the terror!) Since then, I could honestly care less if I wear the same item 3 times in a month or even 3 days in a row… BUT there is something to be said about planning your outfits ahead. I definitely don’t make the effort to plan out my outfits for work on a daily basis but when I do, I feel SO much more confident.
This look is a good example of my current work style. There isn’t anything exceptionally special about this outfit –other than the fact that it’s technically a Canadian tuxedo (and if you don’t know what that means, it’s just a silly term for the denim on denim trend) – but the fun shoes and necklace make me confident and put together.
Now onto styling the Canadian tuxedo… The key in my opinion is to make sure that the denim colors don’t match exactly, and to jazz the look up with some fun accessories like I did here. These J Crew flats are a current wardrobe staple, and the necklace (borrowed from my mom) is a nice way to add some interest to an otherwise monotone look.
