With a serious chill in the air and the phantom hum of soon to be shoppers we (my friend Shannon and I) set out to take some festive pictures by the large Christmas tree at the mall one December morning.
We giggled through the morning as we received awkward stares and “HEY GURL” shouts, and then sought shelter from the brisk morning in Starbucks.
Plus the cups make for a cute picture. Albeit basic.
With Christmasy lattes in hand (decaf for the preggo Shannon) and the buzz of shoppers beginning to arrive, we truly began to feel the Christmas spirit.
^^Please ignore my horrible permanent lack of a manicure
The vest is a recent rental from Rent The Runway and is truly the most vibrant emerald blue tone I’ve ever seen. I’m a big fan of vests this time of year, because I think they can make a really basic outfit look chic and pulled together.
The jeans are actually jeggings (score!) and were a black Friday find at American Eagle of all places. I honestly hadn’t shopped there since middle school, but after discovering these shredded bad boys on the cheap I might have to make it a habit.
I wish you all a Happy New Years Eve! Whether you’re gearing up for a night out on the town or a night on the couch, I hope you will spend it with ones you love! Geordie, baby George, and I are planning to hit up our favorite sushi place for the night. Then we will probably retire home to put George to bed and after we’ll open a bottle of semi-decent Champagne. Although it’s not the crazy cluby NYE of years past, I couldn’t be happier to start a new tradition with my little family.
