On our second day in Florence we headed out bright and early for a rainy day of exploring the museums. First on the agenda was the Uffizi Gallery, followed by the Galileo museum, then a quick stop for paninis the size of my head (and I have a big head) at All’ Antico Vinaio. After enjoying our paninis on the street corner (and some people watching) we trekked through the rainy Florentine streets to the Accademia Gallery where The Statue of David stole the show. I’d heard from many people that when you see David you are struck by the immense perfection of the statue, but I still didn’t really comprehend the magnitude of the sculpture. Geordie and I both agreed it was the highlight of the day, and it immediately hit the top of my must see list in Florence.
After a day of sightseeing we headed home to relax and shower up before dinner. I decided this dress (Use code: KATIE to receive 20% off your order!!) would be perfect for the chilly Florentine night. I love the subtle embroidery of this dress, and the fact that it’s white but not see through as many white dresses seem to be. Born2Dress is an online boutique based in South Florida with TONS of cute rompers, dresses, and cute tops that are super affordable and really great quality. This dress reminds me a lot of the dress seen in this post but for a fraction of the price.
This was the perfect romantic little number to wear out for a late night dinner with Geordie at Trattoria L’Oriuolo where we enjoyed a delicious plate of Antipasto, shared plates of pasta, and a house bottle of Chianti. On the way home we found seemingly the only Gelateria open where I had the best gelato of the trip (thus far!)
It was the perfect Italian day, and though we haven’t left, I’m already scheming how we can make a visit back to Florence soon! Next time with baby George in tow!
